Built to do one thing, thoroughly.
EYEAM is a focused cardiovascular company. We advance a single mechanism against a single disease, and we let that discipline shape everything else.
A conviction, then a company.
EYEAM began with a single conviction: that hypertrophic cardiomyopathy deserves a medicine aimed at its mechanism, not only at the symptoms it produces. Everything about the company follows from that starting point. We chose the disease first, chose the mechanism that speaks most directly to it, and built the organisation around carrying that one idea as far as it can go.
Most of biopharma is organised the other way around, assembling broad portfolios that hedge across many diseases and many mechanisms. There is a logic to that model. But there is also a cost to it, in attention. A programme competing for resources against a dozen others is a programme understood a little less well than it could be.
We made the opposite choice on purpose. By concentrating on one lead cardiac myosin inhibitor for one defined disease, we can hold the whole of it in view, ask sharper questions of the biology, and follow the answers further than a divided company would.
What focus buys
Focus is not austerity. It is a way of spending the most valuable resource a company has, which is not money but attention. When a team studies one mechanism day after day, its understanding compounds. Patterns that would be noise to a generalist become signal. Decisions get made by people who know the programme in depth, rather than by committee across unrelated bets.
That is the wager EYEAM has made. It is not the safest way to build a company, but for a disease that has waited a long time for a mechanism-directed therapy, we believe it is the right one.
Principles
How we work.
A short set of commitments that decide the hard calls when priorities compete.
- 01Depth over breadth
- We would rather understand one mechanism completely than several partially. Our portfolio is intentionally singular so that our attention can be total. Every hire, every study and every priority is measured against the one programme we exist to advance.
- 02Evidence before ambition
- Enthusiasm is cheap and data is not. We let clinical evidence, not the appeal of a story, decide what advances and how quickly. When the data are mixed, we say so, and we design the next study to resolve the question rather than to flatter the last one.
- 03Patients as the measure
- The point of a mechanism is the person it eventually reaches. We hold ourselves to whether the work improves how people with HCM feel, function and fare over the long course of the disease, not to interim metrics that look good in isolation.
- 04Collaboration without dilution
- A focused company cannot reach global scale alone, and does not pretend to. We work with partners and investigators who extend our reach while we keep our attention undivided, contributing the depth that comes from studying one thing for a long time.
How we develop
Focused inside, connected outside.
A single-programme company keeps its own work concentrated, but the science of getting a medicine to patients is inherently collaborative. Late-stage trials span countries and clinics. Manufacturing, regulatory review and clinical operations each demand specialised expertise. None of that argues against focus. It argues for the right partnerships around it.
EYEAM advances its lead programme through international clinical development and external collaboration, including work reported alongside a pharmaceutical partner. We contribute what a focused company is uniquely able to offer, which is depth of understanding of a single mechanism, and we build the surrounding relationships that let that understanding travel.
Undivided within. Open at the edges.
What we value
The habits behind the work.
Focus is a decision. These are the everyday habits that keep the decision honest.
Rigour
We hold our own claims to the standard we would apply to anyone else's. A result matters because of how it was produced, not because of how much we want it to be true.
Candour
We say plainly what we know, what we do not, and what a finding does and does not mean. Clear language is a form of respect, for colleagues, partners and the people the work is for.
Patience
Good cardiovascular science is measured in years, not quarters. We build for the long arc of a programme and resist the pull to trade durable understanding for a faster headline.
